For most of us native New Jersey folks, we're ok with the rest of the country thinking we're all about factory smoke and fist pumping at the Shore if it keeps larger masses from wanting to move here. We know the real truth.
Among the 21 counties that New Jersey is divided into, the level of diversity is vast. From mountains and forests to farms and beaches, our state has it all. However, one county in particular, is just a step above all the rest.
Here are my seven reasons why Monmouth County is the best County in New Jersey:
A little over a hundred years later, between Freehold and Manalapan, General George Washington intercepted the British as they were retreating to New York during the Battle Of Monmouth. While the battle was considered a draw, it proved to the British that the Revolutionaries, who were outnumbered, could present an intense fight against a more formidable force.
As a kid growing up in Fair Haven, we spent an entire year learning about the historical significance of Monmouth County to both our state and country. A little research will reveal so many amazing facts.
Access to beaches, airports, ferry terminals, major highways, rail lines, and all around fun are less than 60 minutes in any direction!
Monmouth County restaurants have evolved over the decades, and the vast majority take the quality of their food very seriously. The Farm-To-Table movement has been instrumental in providing chefs access to the freshest products available, and the restaurants in our County are proof of this.
Park Rangers, park employees, police, fire, rescue, legislators, Coast Guard, Fish and Game, highway workers, farmers, fisherman, hikers, bikers, walkers, runners, cooks, musicians, surfers, lifeguards, environmental groups and all the residents make up an enormously caring group of people who are responsible for making Monmouth County the best in the State of New Jersey!
